State Level Youth Exchange Programme, 2024, concludes on a high note
~24 youths from Meghalaya selected to attend the upcoming International Empower Youth Programme in Indonesia~
Shillong, November 7th, 2024: The State Level Youth Exchange Programme 2024 culminated today showcasing the vibrant energy and skill of Meghalaya’s youth. The closing ceremony was held today at Convocation Hall, NEHU Shillong Campus.
Organised by the Directorate of Sports and Youth Affairs, Government of Meghalaya, the programme commenced from November 4th-7th 2024, brought together talented youths from all 12 districts. The event featured an array of competitions, interactive sessions, and talent hunts, which included Declamation, Quiz, Poetry Writing, Story Writing, Painting, Folk Song and Dance (solo and group), and Science Mela. Moreover, interactive sessions and talent hunts were organised to foster skills and creativity among youths.
Smt R M Kurbah, IAS, Deputy Commissioner, East Khasi Hills, congratulated the participants, acknowledging their exceptional prowess and skills. The programme also served as a platform for selecting youths to represent Meghalaya at the North-East, National, and International levels. Notably, 24 youths will attend the upcoming International Empower Youth Programme in Jakarta, Indonesia
Dignitaries in attendance include Smt R M Kurbah, IAS, Deputy Commissioner, East Khasi Hills, Shri D.D Shira, MCS, Director Sports and Youth Affairs, Govt of Meghalaya, Shri P. B. War Nongbri, Assistant Director Sports and Youth Affairs, Shri K Passah, Assistant Director Sports and Youth Affairs, Fr. Michael Makri and Shri D Rapsang. District Sports officers, and officials from NYK and NSS were also present.
