JOWAI:
The District Magistrate, West Jaintia Hills has directed all all-Arms Licenses Holders in West Jaintia Hills District to deposit their weapons along with Xerox copy (s) of Licenses to the respective Police Station and Out Posts for peaceful, free and fair conduct of the ensuing General Election to Jaintia Hills Autonomous District Council, 2025 and the same will be released after the Election process is over.
The order issued under Section 163 BNSS prohibits carrying of arms by any person or persons.
This Order will not apply to members of the Police, Security Forces, Para Military Forces who may carry Arms in connection with their lawful duties.
