The Hynniewtrep National Liberation Council (HNLC) has issued a statement correcting reports that Sromwell Mawdoh was a surrendered member, stating he was apprehended in 2015 as an active member and later implicated as an Over Ground Worker (OGW) without substantiation.
The HNLC alleges police misconduct, questioning the department’s intentions and tactics in targeting young individuals, including Mawdoh, who has expressed interest in the upcoming MDC election.
The statement also recounts Emanuel Suchen’s experience with police brutality, coercion, and third-degree torture during his detention and interrogation.
The HNLC warns the government not to underestimate their strength, vowing to disrupt peace and seek vengeance for past injustices.
