SOUTH GARO HILLS:
During his recent visit to Garo Hills to assess areas affected by landslides and floods, the Hon’ble Chief Minister of Meghalaya, Conrad K. Sangma, inspected Silkigre Primary Health Centre. The facility was almost inundated and is trying to get its services back at the earliest.
To support the effort and ensure services to people, Chief Minister promised to provide an ambulance to Silkigre PHC in South Garo Hills to better serve the community. The earlier ambulance was damaged during the floods.
Fulfilling this promise in just a few days, the Hon’ble Chief Minister, through Health Department has facilitated the delivery of a Patient Transport Vehicle (PTV) Ambulance to the health facility.
The MLA, 59 Chokpot Sengchim N. Sangma, handed over Ambulance to Silkigre PHC on th the 23rd October, 2024.
This state-of-the-art vehicle is equipped with essential medical equipment, including a single-person operable auto-loader stretcher with IV holders, an oxygen cylinder stand, public announcement systems, two-tone sirens, attendant seating with under-seat storage, a wash basin, and a fire extinguisher.
The ambulance is well-suited to navigate the challenging terrain and road conditions in the region, ensuring timely and efficient patient transport.
