District Level Youth Exchange Programme Concludes

KHLIEHRIAT:

The two day long District Level Youth Exchange Programme carrying the theme ” Today’s Youth, Tomorrow’s Leader” organized by the office of the District Sports Officer, East Jaintia  Hills District at Khliehriat West   Community   Hall,   Khliehriat   came   to   a   close   to day.

The closing ceremony was attended by the Sub-Divisional Officer (Sadar), East Jaintia Hills District, Aditya Verma as Chief Guest in the presence of Block Development Officer, Khliehriat C&RD Block, Dr. T. Shylla, District School Education Officer, East Jaintia Hills District, A.P Syiem, District Sports Officer, East Jaintia Hills District, S.M Rapsang, District Public Relations Officer, East Jaintia Hills District, E.S War and other government officials, teachers and students.

Speaking during the concluding function, Aditya Verma elaborated on the theme of the programme, he called upon the students to be ambitious and to dream big in life. He also  said that anything can be achieved by the youth in their lives through hard work, consistency and dedication towards their goals.

Further, he also said that leaders are not born but they are made and also encouraged the young mind to be innovative and invest their full energy towards fulfilling  their respective dreams and aspirations.

Additionally, he also stated that there is no age limit for any one who desires to become a  leader in society and urged upon the students gathered at the programme to adopt positive thinking even as he also encouraged them to continue their relentless effort in whatever they pursue and utilize  their skills to the maximum.

The two days event, aimed at fostering leadership and promoting the talents of the youth, featured   intense   competition   among   young   participants   with   the   programme   featuring   engaging activities including  folk  songs,  folk  dances, science  mela,  story  writing,  quiz, painting  and  other  competitions.

During programme, the Chief Guest along with the other dignitaries distributed prizes to the winners of  various competitions. In  the Story Writing  Competition, Wanda  Phi Pala  from  Jaintia Eastern College secured the first prize while Nisha Shylla from Jaintia Eastern College and Mewari  Gympad from Star Public School secured the second and third prizes respectively.In the Declamation Competition, Juliana Lyngdoh from Jaintia Eastern College secured the first prize, Pynhunlang Ia-I Syih from Jaintia Eastern College bagged the second prize while Gloria Gympad from Good Shepherd Higher Secondary School secured the third prize. In the Poetry Writing Competition, Wanda Phi Pala from Jaintia Eastern College won the first prize, Avirginia Dkhar from Jaintia Eastern College won the second prize while Well Born Phawa from Sein Jait Tuber Higher Secondary School secured the third prize. In the Painting Competition, Bright star Dkhar from Don Bosco College won the first prize, Gloria Chyrmang from Gracious Disciples bagged the second prize and Bikram Magar from Jaintia  Eastern College secured the third prize. In the Science Mela Competition, Rangdajied Sympli and Biki  Boro from Jaintia Eastern College  were announced  as  the winners while Alisha  Dkhar and  Lightning Sumer from Jaintia Eastern College were adjudged as runners up.In the Solo Folk Song Competition, the first prize was won by a student of Good Shepherd  Higher Secondary School, the second prize was bagged by a student of Star Public School while the  third prize was secured by a student of Sein Jait Tuber Higher Secondary School; whereas, in the Folk Song Group Category, the first prize was won  by Sein Jait  Tuber Higher Secondary  School, the second prize was bagged by Good Shepherd Higher Secondary School and the third prize was secured by Jaintia Eastern College. In the Solo Folk Dance Competition, the first prize was secured by a student of Jaintia Eastern College while the second prize was bagged by a student of Sein Jait Tuber Higher Secondary School.  In the Group Folk Dance Competition, the first prize was won by Good Shepherd Higher Secondary School while the second and third prizes were bagged by Ephatha Society and Sein Jait Tuber Higher Secondary School respectively.In the  Quiz Competition, Jaintia Eastern College was declared  winners while Star Public School and Don Bosco College, Byndihati were adjudged first and second runners up respectively.
